Kulala Desert Lodge is one of Namibia's best situated lodges in terms of its
proximity to the sand dunes at Sossusvlei. A sunrise excursion into the dunes
leaves a few minutes before sunrise, with breakfast eaten under a camelthorn
tree near Sossusvlei.
Accommodation at Kulala Desert Lodge is in one of twelve thatched and canvas
chalets, with en-suite bathrooms and showers. Each chalet is placed on a raised
wooden platform to allow maximum air circulation. Mattresses can be placed on a
private platform above each room allowing guest to sleep under the Namibian

privately owned NamibRand Nature Reserve. In the reserve,
the eerily beautiful Namib Desert has been painstakingly reclaimed for
conservation to create the largest private nature reserve in Southern Africa,
exclusive to lodge residents.
The reserve's totally private dunes, mountains, and pristine spaces
are experienced by a maximum of 20 lodge residents. Ten stone and glass desert

some amazing granite hills. Every room has its own patio that opens onto the
